    Das Fenster gehört zu einem vierteiligen Fensterzyklus für die zwei Aufbahrungsräumen im Regionalen Pflegezentrum Gossau (heute Betagtenzentrum Schwalbe), die bei Heinrich Stäubli zur Zeit der Errichtung des Altersheim in Auftrag gegeben wurden. Es hat sich ein Entwurf mit zwei der vier Fenster erhalten (HS_498).
    Zusätzlich zu den vier Fenstern kaufte man den Glasdruck «Herbst» (1976) von Heinrich Stäubli an, der heute im hinteren der zwei Aufbahrungsräume aufgehängt ist. Für seine Glasdrucke färbte Stäubli Glasstücke mit ausgeprägter Oberflächenstruktur ein und nahm die Farbe und Glasstruktur mittels eines darauf gepressten Papiers ab.
