Description

Die Rundscheibe ist gleich aufgebaut wie die Stiftung des François-Joseph de Castella. Zwei wegsehende Löwen halten vor Waffentrophäen die von der Freiherrenkrone mit neun Kugeln überhöhte goldene Rollwerkkartusche mit dem ovalen Wappenschild des Stifters. Am Fuss steht vor dem Bretterboden die Stifterinschrift.

Farbloser Monolith. Bemalung mit Schwarzlot und Silbergelb in verschiedenen Farbstufen, Eisenrot sowie blauen Schmelzfarben.

History

Research

Simon Pierre de Castella (1664–1719) war ein Sohn des Jean de Castella († 1701), Herrn von Delley, und damit ebenfalls ein Bruder des Kapellenstifters Jean Antoine. 1676–1678 nahm er als Leutnant an den flandrischen Kriegszügen teil und gehörte 1683 der Kompanie Castella de Delley an. 1683 wurde er als Besitzer und Bewohner eines Hauses in der Lausannegasse Bürger von Freiburg. 1685 kam er in den Grossen Rat und 1702 in den Rat der Sechzig, bevor er 1710–1715 das Amt eines Vogts von Surpierre besetzte. Simon Pierre de Castella starb, ebenfalls ledig, im Jahr 1719.
