    Description

    Glasmalerei mit dem Haupt Christi in violettem Nimbus, das von einer Dornenkrone umgeben ist, die mittels spitzer roter Zacken oder Strahlen symbolisiert wird. Christus Gesicht besteht aus zwei bleigefassten ovalen Formen, die ineinander gesetzt sind. Die Gesichtszüge wie auch der Hals sind mit breiten, tiefschwarzen Linien in Schwarzlot ausgeführt. Christus ist als Leidender mit geschlossenen Augen gezeigt. Die roten Zacken der Dornenkrone alternieren mit waldgrünen Zwischenstücken mit Farbverlauf.

    Das Werk gehört zu einer der frühsten erhaltenen Glasmalereien von Heinrich Stäubli aus dem Jahr 1956. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt war Heinrich Stäubli noch im Atelier von Andreas Kübele SG tätig, erst zwei Jahre später gründete er sein eigenes Atelier. Charakteristisch für diese frühen Arbeiten ist die dicke, teilweise wulstartige Verbleiung. Es ist nicht bekannt, ob das Werk ausgestellt wurde.
