Biographical Data
French general, collector, and principal patron of the Musée de Grenoble. As an officer in the French colonial army between 1884 and 1910, Léon de Beylié was mainly active in Indochina. However, he carried out short missions to Algeria and Tunisia in 1898 and supervised excavations at the Qalʾa of Beni Hammad in Algeria in 1908–1909.
