    Description

    Dargestellt ist die Ansicht einer Klosteranlage. Es handelt sich um das ehemalige Kartäuserkloster von Romans-sur-Isère. Links befindet sich die Klosterkirche, die Szenerie ist eingerahmt von Bäumen. Im Vordergrund sind zwei Nonnen zu sehen, die in Richtung der Kirche gehen.
    Die monochrome Hinterglasmalerei ist eingerahmt von einer zweifachen goldenen Linie, dazwischen befindet sich die Inschrift.

    Die Hinterglasmalerei ist einer Darstellung im 1818 erschienen Buch “Souvenirs pittoresques du Général Bacler d'Albe” von Godefroy Engelmann (1788–1839) nachempfunden. Die Publikation enthält 104 Zeichnungen von Louis-Albert-Ghislain Bacler d'Albe (1761–1824), auf Seite 42 ist die Klosteranlage von Romans-sur-Isère dargestellt.
