    Das Bild thematisiert das Spannungsverhältnis des Dargestellten im Material Glas. Es offenbaren sich Innen und Aussen, so auch der Titel des Werkes. Die Vorderseite des Glases mit dessen Transparenz, Spiegelung und Festigkeit kann als Grenze gesehen werden. Der Bildträger ermöglicht aber gleichzeitig auch eine Durchdringung und Veredelung des von hinten Bemalten. Die Inspiration für seine Bilder findet Peter Barth in verschiedenen Museen der Schweiz. Kernthema für ihn sind das Menschsein und die inneren Werte eines Individuums.
