    Vor farblosem Grund ist das Vollwappen des Johann (Hans) Rudolf Hackbrett festgehalten. Umfasst wird es von einer massiv konstruierten, braungelben und hellvioletten Rundbogenarchitektur, die sich über einer hohen, die Tafel mit der Stifterinschrift enthaltenden Sockelzone erhebt.

    Das Glas mit der Vase in der Ecke oben links neu ergänzt; Sprünge und zahlreiche Sprungbleie; die Verbleiung erneuert.

    Farbloses Glas; Bemalung mit Schwarzlot und Silbergelb sowie blauer, hellblauer und violetter Schmelzfarbe; rückseitig die Brandmarke "E" im Email.

    Research

    Johann Rudolf Hackbrett (1672–1741), der Sohn von Anton (1640–1699) und Bruder von Johann (1670–1745), war Oberst im Toggenburgerkrieg, Vogt zu Wil, als Kommissär in England, 1710 des Grossen Rats zu Bern und 1728 Schultheiss in Thun. 1710 heiratete er in Bern Maria Lerber (HBLS 4/1927, S. 41; Kessel 2015).

    Die Scheibe ist dem Werk Andreas Fueters zuzurechnen. In stilistischer Hinsicht besonders eng verwandt ist die Wappenscheibe Karl Rudolf Mays von 1751 im Bernischen Historischen Museum, die sich ebenfalls Fueter zuweisen lässt (BHM Bern, Inv. 1526).
