Book printing
To illustrate the description of the manufacturing of stucco and glass windows, Julius Franz publishes a vertical and a horizontal section through a window. It shows the typical oblique carving of the stucco panels and the direction of the light as it enters. As Franz describes, this way of cutting serves to ensure that the colourful design of the windows, which are often installed high up, is not obscured by the stucco lattice. A second illustration shows a copper mesh, which protects the windows on the outside.
